Saturday 7/5 - Knitting for Beginners +/or more practice for slightly 10am-12pm
Learn to Knit!! Elizabeth Martin, of Tiny Art Garage, will patiently show you how to use a slip knot to cast on, make stitches, and and then bind off. You’ll knit knit knit along, and make a smallish sample (perhaps a short scarf?). She’ll also talk about how to relax as we work, ways we can recover from mistakes, where we should look to find helpful online resources, & what project might be fun to try next (like our upcoming Knitting: Learn to Follow a Simple Pattern!).
You will also be introduced to the idea of the right size needles for the right size yarn, and the best beginner- friendly yarn (light in color, wool or acrylic, & simply plied. If that doesn’t make sense it will after this class!) You can bring your own materials, and/or they available for purchase at the shop, and we will help you shop our selection to get you set up! (under $15).
Come knit with us!!
